Studio on the North --named as a spoof to Van Gogh's "Studio of the South" and because of its location in proximity to the garage-- is a quaint new studio. Artist Jeanette Johnson can be found there giddy with delight up to her elbows in wet mushy paper pulp. Wet and soggy at the start paper pulp dries to become vividly colored collages and detail illustrations suitable for residential, commercial, and corporate settings. Studio on the North is nestled in the gentle rolling hills between Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge and Shawnee National Forest, just southwest of Marion, Illinois and not far from the eastern tip of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. Off the beaten path enough, so automobiles stop to allow wild turkeys, deer, and foxes cross the road. Where life seems to be a little sweeter.
